[Judas transferred some of his blood into Libby while it still contained healing nanomites. They were weaker for her, and self-terminated only a few hours later, but slightly accelerated her recovery to the point where she's regaining consciousness today. She can be heard groaning, and then her breath catches in her throat. She's touched her face and found the gouges to still be there--healing slowly, but there.]
I...
[She makes a pained noise. Yep, she just prodded at her stomach LIKE A BOSS. Smart.]
I didn't die. Why...?

Date: 2010-06-25 01:26 am (UTC)I thought he'd be able to make me comfortable again.

Date: 2010-06-25 03:36 am (UTC)We didn't hear that, I'm sorry. Libby.

Date: 2010-06-25 03:39 am (UTC)It's okay. You're doctors; you did what you were supposed to do--and you obviously did it well. Thank you.
[She takes Martha's hand in hers.]

Date: 2010-06-25 04:04 am (UTC)[And it did, really.]

Date: 2010-06-25 05:07 am (UTC)I wonder if he would have been able to save me on the island, with the right equipment.
[She sounds sad, but not overly so. She was cheated out of the rest of her life, but still has her happy ending.]

Date: 2010-06-25 05:29 am (UTC)I bet he would have; he did brilliantly here.
no subject
Date: 2010-06-27 12:38 am (UTC)So did you. He couldn't have done it alone, Martha.

Date: 2010-06-25 02:12 am (UTC)Martha and Denise helped
And he wasn't around to hear that confession either, because look at that face! He's beaming. ]
Hey, you're up.

Date: 2010-06-25 02:15 am (UTC)Hi Jack.

Date: 2010-06-25 03:23 am (UTC)[Yep Jack, stick to the clincical stuff. He's still smiling though. Holding back the jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears]

Date: 2010-06-25 03:29 am (UTC)[She'd still feel like shit if she had died and come back, except WITHOUT THE WOUNDS AND HEALING TIME. GDIT.]

Date: 2010-06-25 04:55 am (UTC)Any pain? Nausea?
[He checked Libby's dressings. They'll need to be changed in a few days but overall they looked really good. Suspiciously good. They were healing faster than he had expected, but who was Jack to suspect anything normal happening on this ship. Oh wait. Jack was Jack. Of course he was suspicious but that feeling was being overridden at the moment by the relief that Libby was in all likelihood going to make a full recovery. A breath escaped him as he smiled]

Date: 2010-06-25 05:03 am (UTC)Mild pain and nausea.
[She peers down at the dressings when Jack checks, and aren't quite as bad as she expected. Maybe the recovery won't be too terrible after all.]

Date: 2010-06-25 05:12 am (UTC)That's good. [And then somewhat to himself] That's good.
So Libby, [He pulled up a chair and sat next to her after checking her pillow to see that she's comfortable] how did this happen?
no subject
Date: 2010-06-25 05:23 am (UTC)[ANYWAY. Libby shrugs, more than a little embarrassed.]
That port was so hectic that I didn't have time to read all the posts on the network. I must have missed a warning, because...well, I found a woman crying, and I tried to talk to her. The next thing I knew, she had a handful of my guts and I was collapsing.

Date: 2010-06-26 11:14 am (UTC)[He sighs sitting back in the chair. He brings a hand to his forehead and shakes his head]
That place was such a tragedy. I'm glad we left when we did, but I wish there was more I could do.

Date: 2010-06-27 12:41 am (UTC)[That's a lesson Libby's still in the process of applying to her life, even though she accepts it as fact.]

Date: 2010-06-27 02:33 am (UTC)[He feels his teeth running over his bottom lip as he says it, probably a cue that he doesn't quite agree with her. He'll work to the bone and rest when there isn't anything left to do]

no subject
Date: 2010-06-27 12:28 am (UTC)I was unconscious for a couple of days afterward, and they needed to replace the blood I'd lost. I'm on painkillers and antibiotics to prevent infection now. I'll be on the mend for a while.
I love the death portrait picture of her!
Date: 2010-06-27 11:52 am (UTC)Rest well. If you need anything at all, just ask.
